AISD Community Engagement Night

What's better than a night filled with pancakes, games for kids, and learning for adults? Not much!

Allen ISD is excited to host our second Community Engagement Night! This event will be held on Tuesday, April 11 from 5:30-8 p.m. at Boon Elementary School (1050 Comanche Dr, Allen, TX 75013). A family-friendly pancake dinner will be served from 5:30 p.m.-6:00 p.m. in the cafeteria for all who attend! Find more information HERE.

Prekindergarten Enrollment for 2023-2024

In the 2023-2024 school year, Allen ISD will serve eligible students in a full-day Prekindergarten program.  The program will consist of both monolingual and bilingual classes and will be located at George J. Anderson Early Childhood School.

Register for FREE ESL Classes - April 18

FREE ESL classes will be offered through Grayson College beginning Tuesday, April 25.  

Registration will be held on April 18 @ 5:30 PM at Allen ISD Dillard Special Achievement Center.  Please see the flyers for more details!

Earth Fest and Market Event

Saturday, April 15 from 2-6 pm at the Allen ISD STEAM Center.  At the event will be local ecological and environmental non-profit organizations, student clubs, programs, entertainment and a Farmers Market.  Learn more about the event and our vendors at our website HERE.

Are You Moving?

This information request is for parents of current Kinder - 5th grade students.  

If you have moved or will be moving over the summer and already know that your child will not be returning to Preston Elementary, please complete the information below by April 28, 2023. If your child will not attend Preston due to the AISD boundary adjustment, you do not need to provide that information.

PTA Membership Meeting on April 18th at 6.30 pm

Please join us for the April Membership Meeting in the Preston Gym. In this meeting, we will be electing officers for the Preston PTA Board 2023-24, voting on budget amendments, voting on updates to the Bylaws and Standing Rules, discussing the plan for the remainder of the year, and other necessary business. All members welcome.

Bylaws & Standing Rules

The Bylaws and Standing Rules Committee has reviewed our governing documents and changes have been proposed for both the Bylaws and the Standing Rules. Copies of the proposed changes can be seen on the Preston PTA website. Our PTA membership will vote on the suggested changes at the April 18th Membership Meeting. Please let us know if you have any questions.

The Nominating Committee has proposed the following slate of officers for the 2023-2024 school year:

If you would like to become involved with the PTA next year and you are not included on this slate, you may be nominated and run from the floor at the April 18th PTA membership meeting. 

Another way to become involved with the PTA is to volunteer for one of our many standing chair positions which will be appointed at a later time. For more information on the available standing chair positions or volunteer opportunities, please email ptapresident.preston@gmail.com.

Preston Publishers Author Reception

The Preston Publishers Author Reception will be held on April 18th from 5:30 to 6:30pm in the MPR and the library. 

Our young authors will be celebrated with refreshments and treats and have an opportunity to sign/dedicate their published books to the Preston library. We can't wait to honor our student scribes!

Backyard Bash Volunteers Needed!

Backyard Bash will be held on Friday, April 28 from 5:30-7:30pm on the Preston Playground. We will provide pizza, popcorn, water, face painting, balloons, yard games and a DJ for all kinds of fun!  Dippin' Dots will also be on site for purchase. 

We need volunteers to make this event a success!  Please use this link to sign up to volunteer.  This is a great event for teen service hours.

School Supply Packs Coming Soon!

Preston PTA will be selling school supply packs starting this month till May 23rd.  Please check the Preston PTA website, Facebook, student's folder, and future newletters.  This is a convenient and affordable service we offer to our families.  All packs contain the required school supplies for your child(ren)'s grade level! No running around to multiple stores at the last minute!  Packs will delivered to your child's homeroom teacher and available at Meet the Teacher in the Fall!  So easy for all!
