PTA Meeting this Thursday at 6:30 pm

Join us for the February Membership meeting (2/10 at 6:30pm) in the Preston cafeteria where we will elect a nominating committee for the upcoming elections, approve budget amendments, vote on updates to the Standing Rules, and discuss upcoming PTA events.

Allen Eagle Run

Registrations are still going! Help Preston get top awards for most registrations!

In case you don't know much about Allen Eagle Run, or why we promote it, here is some information on it.

Now in its 14th year, the Allen ISD Eagle Run hosted by the Foundation For Allen Schools has become an annual community tradition. The race benefits the Foundation, and all proceeds directly fund classroom grants, teacher and student scholarships, Allen PTA programs, and campus projects. It's a great way to feel part of the community and really feel like an Allen eagle.

The Allen Eagles are our high school mascot and since all of our elementary schools, and middle schools feed into Allen High School, the community feels like we are all Allen Eagles! Its a great event for the community to come out and all feel the community spirit!

Preston gets $5 back for each registration. That's such a great way to help out our school! Preston has been in the top three schools for most registrations for the last three years. We would love to take those honors again and win the extra prize money from the district in addition to the money from sign-ups!

There are several sign-up options, so whether your family wants to run, walk or sleep right through it, there is something for you!

Art Show Volunteers Needed

We'd love to meet some new faces and see some familiar ones to help out with our Art Show! There's lots of opportunities available, so hopefully you can help us before, during, or after the show to make it another huge success.

Lifetime Member Nominations

An award will be given in March to 2 staff members and 2 volunteers called the Lifetime Membership Award. This is one of the highest honors presented to an individual for their outstanding service to our children at Preston. We encourage you to take 5 minutes and click on the nomination survey here and nominate 2 staff members and 2 volunteers. This is a great way to recognize an individual who you feel goes above and beyond for our children and school. Surveys are due on or before 2/26.

SAVE THE DATE

Our spring book fair themed, Books Bring Us Together, will be here March 28 through April 1. Students and parents will have an opportunity to visit the book fair. Please be on the look out for more details and for volunteer opportunities to help out.
