Special Membership Meeting

10/7 at 10:30-10:35 am in Preston MPR

A Special Membership Meeting is called to hear the Book Fair report and vote on a Budget Amendment. The budget change required would increase the Book Fair income and expense lines on the budget due to the increased number of cash and checks received as book fair payment. The proceeds of the book fair exceeded budgeted expectations, and we will be able to make the payment to Scholastic if the amendment is approved. No other business will be conducted at this meeting.

Congratulations, Foundation Grant Winners!

A hearty congratulations to the Preston staff who were awarded grants from the Foundation for Allen Schools for the 2021-2022 school year!

Two ELA grants, Reaching Readers through Read Alouds and Windows and Mirrors Seeing Ourselves, will reach Preston students in grades K-6th with an additional district-wide grant, DT - Leveled Readers will reaching students in all grades. Two Science/STEAM grants, Hands on Learning and Little Scientists, will reach Preston students in kindergarten and 1st grade, respectively.

Three cheers for Melissa Benitoa, Jamye Hall, Jill Jaska, Monica Lemons, Irene Olvera, Maloree Tennison, Tracy Turner, Catherine Underwood!

Who's excited? 10 more days to our FAMILY MOVIE NIGHT!!

Come enjoy our FAMILY MOVIE NIGHT with your Preston families on October 15th @ 6:30pm.

Popcorn and water will be provided, just come with your chair and blankets.

Great memories guaranteed as we all watch the movie the students voted for, RAYA!

Walk or Bike to School this Wednesday!

Mark your calendars for this Wednesday, October 6th. It's Walk and Bike to School Day!

Skip the carpool line and get active as you head to school. Bus riders will have the option to join the walkers at a designated drop off near the front cross walk. Some lucky students will win prizes too. Don't miss out!

Run Club is Back!

Run Club after school is back for the 21-22 school year! If your child enjoys running, this is a club for them! Run Club is held on Tuesdays from 3:00-3:45 pm, starting October 19th. Please complete the form if your child wishes to participate in the 2021-2022 Preston Run Club. Volunteer registration coming soon!

Encourage your children to showcase their artistic talents! With 6 categories, there is a creative outlet for everyone! Please be sure to read all the rules and information regarding entries at prestonpta.com/reflections.. Entries due in the Art Room by October 22nd.

Spirit Wear Inventory Update!

Be on the look out for an update to the Spirit Wear and Field Trip Shirts Inventory! We have extra, larger sizes in the 2021-22 Field Trip Shirts and extra adult sizes in the Hear Us Roar! long sleeve and a few others. Inventory on the Preston PTA website will be updated by Tuesday, 10/5/2021, just click on the Fundraising tab, then the Spirit Wear and Gear Store tab and scroll down to the Field trip shirt or Spirit Wear tabs. Spelling Bee Registration

The Preston Elementary Spelling Bee will be held December 3rd for our 3rd-6th graders. Registration and more information is available on our Spelling Bee page on our PTA website. Deadline for registration is Friday, November 12th.
