National Spelling Bee
Every year, students from all walks of life have the opportunity to participate in the Scripps National Spelling Bee, one of the nation's oldest and most iconic competitions. They progress from classroom to cafeteria, from auditorium to civic center, delighting friends, family, sponsors and fans, just as millions of other students have done before them.
We are excited to announce Preston Elementary’s 2nd Annual Spelling Bee, which will be held on the following dates during school hours:
- 3rd and 4th Grade Spelling Bee: December 7th, 9:30 am (This event is open to students only).
- 5th and 6th Grade Spelling Bee: December 7th, 1:30 pm (Parents are welcome to attend this event).
There will be 1st and 2nd place prizes awarded at each Spelling Bee.
The winner of the Preston Elementary Spelling Bee will advance to the County level (Collin County Spelling Bee date: TBD). The winner of the county-level Spelling Bee will advance to the Dallas Regional Spelling Bee (to be held on 3/9/2019 – Location: George W. Bush Presidential Center).
