Preston PTA, in partnership with Preston Elementary, is excited to be participating in the National PTA School of Excellence Program for the 2024-2025 school year!

This year-long program is designed to engage the school community and build family-school partnerships. We know that family involvement is critical to student success. Preston PTA and Preston Elementary are committed to building strong and lasting partnerships that will enhance each student and family's experience at Preston. How does this program work? 

Assess: The School of Excellence program begins with a Community Feedback Survey. Preston's survey will go to all families and staff and will be open from September 30-October 7. The survey asks questions related to each of the National PTA's standards for family-school partnerships (see more below). We want to hear from everyone! Filling out the survey gives us information about how things are going at Preston.

Plan: The School of Excellence committee - comprised of parents, PTA board members, school admin & staff, and community members - will meet in late October/early November and use the survey results to see what Preston's strengths are and where there are areas for improvement. Using the School of Excellence program guidelines, the committee will select a standard from the list below and determine a goal and corresponding action plan

Implement: From November through April, the campus and the PTA will carry out the action plan, updating and involving families all along the way.

Reassess & Celebrate: A follow-up Community Feedback Survey will be sent in April. This survey is just as important as the first and will provide a great comparison to the beginning of the year. The School of Excellence committee will compile the data and share it with everyone so we can celebrate our successes together.
